"Awaiting the End" is a free GM-less tabletop roleplaying game where you play people trapped in a Place awaiting a Doom and you tell stories about how you got there. It requires minimal preparation and the rules fit on a tri-fold pamphlet.
Gregory Avery-Weir wrote the basic rules to "Awaiting the End" while they were in a disastrous polyamorous triad, looking for a roleplaying game that the three of them could play. At the time, did Gregory see the toxic Place they all were in? Did they know about the impending Doom and the Hope for escape? "Awaiting the End" is inspired by works like Rashomon and The Usual Suspects, where people look back on how they got to a Place and don't always tell the same truth as others doing the same thing. If you spoke to each person who survived that relationship you'd get three very different stories.
A no-prep one-sheet GM-less tabletop RPG
Requires only 3+ people, index cards, pencils, and six-sided dice
Alternately hilarious and soul-crushingly sad
A good game to play when trapped in an awful Place awaiting a Doom
Awaiting the End uses fonts from Google Fonts and public domain images. It was laid out in ConTeXt.
